March, for us, was the cut-off date for only local job searching. While we live in an awesome place, it’s actually quite far from any good techie jobs (especially if you add in a commute to Boston), and when Chop was laid off, we decided that he’d search for six weeks within 50 miles, but after that, we’d expand.
I should probably say I decided, as my brain is the worry-about-everything half of the relationship, lol.
So this weekend we went out to dinner and discussed cities we’d be comfortable and happy moving to.
Granted, we’d prefer not moving for a few years (I’m kinda tired of it after last year’s fiascos), but I’m just not sure that will be possible.
We have some rules… there has to be an ocean close by (within an hour), a good music scene, low-ish cost of living (depends on salary), relatively good weather and the ability to easily get another job in our field if another one goes south.
So for now, he’s concentrating on three state capitals and two other big cities, on both sides of the country.
However, we are taking suggestions!
“Air Chief Marshal Jock Stirrup, chief of the Defense Staff, said he decided to withdraw the prince after senior commanders assessed the risks, the Defense Ministry said in a statement.”
Jock Stirrup?! Are you serious? Can you imagine the grief he got as a kid? Wtf.
Second paragraph.
The Chop and I had a busy weekend. There was snow and there was CT, but that is no excuse to forget your favorite cousin’s birthday! Ack!
Happy Belated Birthday!!!
Sadly, my cousin’s family is planning a move to CO, which means when I go home to visit, I’ll no longer get to see them. 🙁
However, I now have a place to stay in CO… party, baby!
This video is insanely funny. It’s an adorable Korean kid who sings “Hey Jude” and it’s so bizarre it’s hysterical.
It’s like he’s inside my head.
Thursday night Chop’s sister flew in for the weekend. About an hour after we got back to the house (around 11PM), Regina decided that something didn’t agree with her and proceeded to puke on my rug.
Chop took her outside, where she puked twice more.
Thinking she’d gotten it all out, we went to bed around midnight.
Starting at 4AM, she threw up multiple times, with Chop getting up and cleaning (such a good boyfriend, lol) out her crate, putting her back, coming back to bed and getting up every half hour after that to repeat the process.
It was a very long night, that basically became a very long weekend, with his sister getting sick most of the day Saturday.
Yesterday, after we dropped her at the airport, I came home and took a nap.
Wii belong together, you and Mii

Hiya, yes I am a dork on Valentine’s Day, what of it? 😀
Today, the Porkchop turns 33, and while that’s not a milestone in number, it’s his first birthday since college when he didn’t have a job.
I’m not sure what that means he’s going to do today, but I suspect it will involve sleeping late and playing Madden NFL.
Sadly I had to come in to work, so I won’t get to be around to enjoy that 😛
But Izzie wanted me to pass along a message…

The closest Starbucks to our house now is 10 miles away, and it’s not a drive-thru.
So when I read that there’s a goddamn Starbucks at Guantanamo, I experienced some rage.
What’s a girl have to do to get a good coffee shop on the corner?!
Adele, Hometown Glory… I am loving her. Sis, I think she’s right up your alley.
I first heard her a couple of months ago on Perez (yes, I read PerezHilton, I can’t help it, he’s funny) and was very irritated she only had stuff out in the UK.
But apparently someone got their ass in gear, because she has this single out in the US, and her other album is on the way. Very exciting. 😀
