February 14th, 2010happy birthday hubby
Yesterday was the Chop’s 35th birthday—and now he claims to feel old. As in, downward slope to 40, no longer in his early 30s, OLD. I, of course, find that hilarious—partially because I haven’t hit 30 yet and partially because he looks like he hasn’t hit 30 yet. Damn good genes, I say.
I made poached eggs and grits, got him coffee from Starbucks and we watched movies all day until we went out to dinner—then we came home, watched another movie and ate cake. We’re crazy party people, I know. It’s sad, lol.

man. he’s waaaay old! did he get the card i sent?

Yes! And he says thank you 🙂 It was very cute, yet slightly disturbing LOL. Considering cooking isn’t my thing lately, it’s been a lot of takeout and easy stuff he can make… ie, that picture of his future is frightening! 🙂

wtf are grits?

LOL CJ you guys don’t have grits?! They are tasty… but only if you make them right. “Grits” are basically coarsely-ground corn that is cooked at low heat with milk (or water, but that way is bad) and then other stuff goes in. We like it with extra sharp cheddar cheese. It’s really good. Kinda like a finer risotto consistency. 🙂

Nah never even heard of Grits unless it was the band! I will have to try them if I ever come over! (that, and baskin robbins. And supersize combos. And pizza by the slice. And those huge drums of ice-cream i see on movies. And cookie dough. And Cheetos. And a hot dog from a road-side stand…)

Omg, LOL.
OK, Baskin Robbins = super overrated! Ben & Jerry’s is so much better. 🙂
Supersize combos = US obesity problem? LOL
Pizza by the slice = you don’t have that? That’s just insane. It’s awesome, but really only in Chicago or NY. 🙂
Cookie dough = it’s better made at home!
Cheetos = DEAR GOD, you’ve NEVER had Cheetos? I LOVE CHEETOS. I don’t eat them very often (hello, calories!), but OMG, they are amazing. We gotta get you some Cheetos.
Hot dog at a road side stand = flee. Seriously. If you haven’t eaten them your entire life (ie, your gut hasn’t gotten used to the bacteria and stuff), you will lose it faster than you ate it, if you get my drift, lol. 🙂
