When the Chop and I first moved in together, I was still unemployed following my departure from the job from hell. I remember being irritated that I had nothing really to do, and he was lucky to still have a regular job.
The role reversal is odd. And it’s only been one day.
Also, he makes more money getting unemployment (hell yeah we filed for that… damages the old boss) than I do. Problem? Yes, I think so.
You may be in luck, if the Chop can’t find another job right away (or better yet could find one that would pay in cash – so he could still collect). They’re talking about extending the unemployment compensation for a minimum of 13 weeks and maybe 26 in this new economic stimulus package. They’re also taking about increasing fuel oil credits for people who live in the North East. Look into those, because even with him working you might be able to get something.
