idk, i’m a vamp?

You Are A Vampire

You have a real thirst for bliss, and you consider yourself a true hedonist.
And you’re not afraid to walk alone in life, if it means getting what you truly crave.
You truly enjoy entrancing people. Not to mention the ensuing pleasures of the flesh.
Your tastes have been called decadent and bizarre. You usually give in to your temptations, no matter how primal

Your greatest power: Your flawless ability to seduce and charm

Your greatest weakness: Human flesh

You play well with: Werewolves

happy halloween

Guess what I’m going to be for Halloween?

bday1.jpg

The Porkchop let me open one of my birthday presents early… rather, he wants me to open them all, but I am refusing! 😀

However, the hat box was calling me.

I have always wanted a Chineses bamboo peasant hat.

Now technically, we aren’t planning on going anywhere. We have our pumpkins carved and the candy ready, but we don’t plan to leave the house.

However, I do plan to dress up a little. 😀

Anyone else?

west coast

I’m about to complete a whirlwind trip to the west coast. I flew out Wednesday night, spent three days and am now sitting at the airport, getting ready to head home.

Mainly I came to see my childhood cat, who is no longer really eating, and sleeps constantly. Everyone knows it’s about her time to go. And it’s incredibly devastating to my mom, who has spent every last bit of these past 18 years with her.

On a different note, I got to meet my sister’s new puppy. She’s been in Mexico on vacation, so my parents were babysitting… which, for the past three days, has translated to me babysitting.

Figures.

Fortunately, she is kinda cute (she grows on you). And she’s funny as hell. Not potty-trained yet, which was entertaining to a point, lol, but so tiny that the teaspoon of pee looks so pathetic you don’t even want to discipline her.

The Chop has been packing the past couple of days and that’s what I am heading home to do for the next few weeks. Should be fun.

tenth floor apartment w/ attached garage

So there is a new building being built in NYC.

Residential units, with an en-suite car garage. In other words, you live on the 10th floor, no problem for parking, your car lives there too.

Just drive into the elevator and up you go, depositing you and your car to your very own garage.

Go here, then click on En-Suite Sky Garage in the navigation.

I can tell I’ve been watching too many cop shows, because the first thing I thought of? Wow, it’ll be so much more convenient when you kill your spouse/gay lover/son at home. Simply open the door to your garage (like the suburban killers do), deposit the body in the trunk, take the elevator down (no suspicious activity here!) and drive away.

No doormen to see you lugging that giant suitcase out the door, no nosy neighbor wondering about the stain in the building’s elevator.. the perfect solution!

I’m deranged, I know. Also, I want to live there. 😀

doodoo.. we got the house!

So we got the house..

And because of this amazing turn of events, I predict that we will win the World Series.

Because that’s just how totally awesome this is. 🙂

We move in December 1.. now all we have to do is finish packing.

🙂 Yay!

Good job on the fingers crossed people!

the waiting game

And it’s inevitable.. attaining perfection is a crowded road.

We heard back from the owners of the great house.

Apparently they’ve had “overwhelming” interest and they’ve “narrowed it down to just a few folks.” We’re “very high” on their list, so basically it’s just a waiting game.

I’m not at all surprised, although I was hoping everyone else would be awful and we would be the best and they’d call us today and say, “It’s yours.”

But I live in a fantasy world, with cotton candy meals and unicorns. It’s nice there. You don’t have to wait. Ever.

the perfect house

For the past week we’ve been scouring Craigslist and talking to realtors in neighboring towns.

Yesterday we saw another place with one realtor, in the town we wanted, and when he said the two places we’ve seen were the best, we knew we had to make a decision today.

When we got home, we decided to email the Cape Cod place and see if it was still available. It is, and she invited us to come out this morning.

Late last night a new house, in our current town (5 miles away), came up on Craigslist. Gourmet kitchen (everything is brand new), twice the size of our place now, separate laundry room, recently laid hardwood floors, OK with our pets, two stories, a gorgeous yard, fully refinished basement.. did I mention the gourmet kitchen? LOL, that’s my favorite part.

So we went there this morning, before we headed to the cape.

And oh my god, we found our house. It’s perfect and we want to move in yesterday.

The landlords are fantastic, an older couple, very reminiscent of our previous landlords, and they love us. They’ve been rebuilding this place for about a year, trying to make it really, really nice.

This place is worth at least $500 more per month than what they want for it (less than where we are now!), but they told us they purposely set the price low so they could get a younger couple in it.

We all got along great, and we’ve already filled out the application, so we’re just waiting to find out. They already told us that they were really comfortable with us and his wife even pishposhed the application process, lol, so hopefully we will know in the next few days.

I cannot wait to show pictures.. it’s such an incredible place. And the move will be incredibly easy.

Cross your fingers!

two days, two calls, all bad news

My mom called. Bon Bon probably won’t make it to Thanksgiving, it looks like she’s in total renal failure. 🙁

I was thinking about trying to head out there in the next couple of weeks, just for a few days, but…

The realtor called. We have to move in six weeks, for December 1.

Technically they gave us until Christmas, but we’re heading to the Porkchop’s for Christmas and really, who wants to be moving right before heading out of town for Christmas? Not us.

Apparently the sale is conditional on us moving by the end of December… the new owners want to renovate and expand (don’t think they’ll be allowed to, but whatever).

Our lease states that either one of us can cancel the lease with 60 days of notice, so technically we have no recourse. And she’s offering us a month’s rent to move by then, so what the hell.

Unfortunately this means we have to find a place, pack and hire movers in six weeks. And the cash hit we’ll be taking right before Christmas won’t be a picnic either.

Not the greatest weekend.

perfectly balanced

Left Brain, Right Brain… OK, go read this, look at the picture and then come back here and report.

Which way do you see the picture going?

I’m seeing both, clockwise and counterclockwise, depending on what I think about. I can do it at will and it’s creepy. My designer/programmer friend sees it like I do, but everyone else (so far, 10 people) see it only going clockwise, i.e., using their right brain.

What do you all see? Which way does it go?
