August 11th, 2007a step ahead
When I was seven I met my best friend and we’ve stayed incredibly close our entire lives (granted, we aren’t exactly ancient, but still).
Typically we’ve managed to reach all of our major life milestones together… glasses, braces, first boyfriends, first kisses and final boyfriends. But today she took a big step and married a really nice guy.
And watching your closest friend in life walk down the aisle is one of the most incredible moments in life.
We’re heading home now. We’ve a five hour drive (since my dad is doing the driving) and then an entire day of flying to look forward to tomorrow. Possibly this will be the longest weekend ever.
love ya! Have a safe trip home. We miss you in bunches. The kids keep asking for you to come over & play Wii. I think they both called you in the last couple of days. Thinking of you. Call when you get home. THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING…YOU’RE THE BEST!

You are very lucky for being able to be with your friend in such moment. I am sure it was very special for you both.
I hope to get to see my best friend too getting married, having kids and being with her for the rest of our lives… but nowadays we are in a big crisis that I hope we overcome.

oh god. i wouldn’t have gotten through mine without that glass of champagne. in fact… i think i downed my mimosa right after the ceremony. i said i was “thirsty”. hehehe.
