November 23rd, 2006gobble, gobble
I’m cooking a turkey.
And first of all, cleaning a turkey and soaking it is quite possibly the grossest thing ever. And it’s kinda smelly. (It was a fresh turkey, as in, LIVE three days ago.) Ugh.
Now it’s cooking in the oven and two hours later, it’s finally starting to smell like an actual turkey, which is much better than what it smelled like when we opened the bag yesterday.
So the turkey is cooking, the pots are set on the stove for the rest of the goodies and I am now drinking alcoholic coffee.
Mmmm, holidays. 🙂
Happy Thanksgiving!

i bet it smells better than a tofurky.

It did.. tasted better, too, lol.
It all went well and was exceedingly tasty.
I actually found that cooking eight different dishes, including the turkey, by myself, all at the same time, was quite easier than I expected… and far less stressful than cooking with my family, LOL.

yes alone is so much easier. when i lived in cali with the ex, and tried to cook dinner with him AND my brother in the house.. it was impossible. one would try to distract me and the other would swoop in to snag some predinner tastes. awful.

Happy Belated Day Over THere! I am sorry but I don’t have a clue what this day is and why you celebrate it but, hey, isn’t it great having a festive or day off from time to time? God Bless!

hope it tasted great! and since there aren’t any emergency posts describing fires and follies I’m going to assume that it did.
