May 23rd, 2006what no vodka?!
My dad took almost 2100 pictures when my parents were in Israel. At three weeks, that makes around 100 pictures a day… and knowing my dad, we’re going to get to see all of them.
Now this would be OK if there weren’t a) multiple shots of the same thing, b) multiple shots of his thumb obscuring the camera and c) shots of the signs of the places they were at (so he didn’t have to write it down you see). Mmhmm… oh the joy that slideshow is going to be.
He was telling me all about this the other night as I fussed and mumbled over an Excel spreadsheet that told me I need a job in two months, or I’d have to forego vodka—the sacrilege—and other necessities, like sushi. I came to this realization after I priced how much it’s going to cost me to hire movers (do. not. ask.), how much gas is going to cost me if I move more than 1000 miles from here (gas prices STILL rising) and how much I’ll need in the bank for snafus.
Then my mom got on the line and reminded me of my most important problem—health insurance. I have to convince whoever hires me to put me on insurance ASAP so that I don’t have a break in coverage. There’s a very slim (in my head, nonexistent) chance I might get sick again, so a “preexisting condition” would screw me royally. I love healthcare. 😛
On a brighter note, I have an interview in NYC for a very interesting position. (Which of course made me realize I’d have to get rid of my Jeep—ugh). And tomorrow I leave for the midwest for a few days.
Which, oddly enough, is experiencing 80 degree weather while ours is in the 60s.

I’ve spent the past two evenings sitting out on patios sipping vodka (yay for $5 grey goose martinis) and enjoying the warm bug free nights. God bless the upper midwest.
So do I get to meet you when you’re in town, or what?

Ah, martinis.. yum.
And perhaps… it would kill my anonymity, lol. 😉

don’t worry… your cool factor and street cred are long dead since you’ve started associating with moo, so why not kill off your anonymity as well?

The upper midwest sounds like one of the nicest places you could ever want to be. I hear the people up there are just incredibly wonderful! Do I get to meet when you come to the “upper midwest”?

Wendy – Yeah but since you and I have hung out before, doesn’t that mean that your cool factor is even lower?
Wait, did I just insult myself? Damnit!
