Why this entertains me is anyone’s guess… hehehe

—Yeah, apparently I started this post at 4AM. God only knows why that was funny, but hell, everything is funny at 4AM.

I slept for three hours. Our work email servers are being bastards and half our mail was being held at the great big server place in the sky… until this morning, at 630AM. Wherein an influx of 45 emails from yesterday came into my inbox.

One of my mother’s cats (the 17 year old ones) cannot seem to poop.. exactly. It’s stuck. Yeah, got that image in your head? So my mom comes downstairs and tells me she got most of it out, but she has to go to work and I said, “Well did you lock her up” and she responds, “I don’t have time and could you finish cleaning her?”

My response: “Um, no.”

Mom: “But your cat poops on the floor and you clean it up.”

Me: “Yes, but it’s hard and it’s not as if I am violating her by pulling it out of her pooper while she screams for mercy.”

Mom: “What are you going to do when you have kids?”

Me: “Send them to you, duh. What did you think?”

Today is not a good day.

  1. i… that…

    MY EYES!!!!!!!!!!

and on to a sadder note, i had a ginuea pig who had that problem… but she died… we think she was dying and then was able to poop… i’m hoping she didn’t die because she was full of shit… because that’s just a crappy way to go…

and as punny as that paragraph is, it’s all true.

  3. ROTFL.. mine too, trust me. Have you ever heard a cat scream like it’s dying? It’s wrong.

    Poor guinea pig 🙁

  4. No, what’s wrong is listening to a dying iguana, who has throat cancer and can’t swallow, scream.

    That is wrong.

    Poor Monte.

  5. Poor Monte.

Are you feeling better today? Did you go see a doctor?

  6. Does the cat eat dry food or wet? If it eats dry food, then that is probably why it is having ‘problems’. Cats, by nature don’t drink a lot of water, which can cause them to get ‘bound up’. If the problem continues, call your vet…He or she may recommend a product called Lactulose, which is basically a stool softener for animals.

  7. Oh it only eats wet food—special dietary food because this cat has kidney problems and a mega esophagus. It’s a problematic cat. And it’s purebred Hymalayan.

Lactulose… I’ll look into that. Poor sad cat.

I think it has an obstruction to be honest.

  8. Purebreds (of any kind…dogs, cats) tend to have more problems than mongrels. If it had an obstruction, you wouldn’t have anything to help ‘remove’…Eeew, which makes me lean more towards constipation than obstruction.

  9. Eww is right… and my dad thinks it might be a partial obstruction, as in, the dumb cat nipped some string and it’s tying up her insides.

Of course, he also suggests, anytime anyone has an owie, that we cut off the offending bit.

    Lovely.

  13. Eww.

That’s really all I’ve got. I’m only getting kids if you can buy them self-cleaning. I mean if we can do it with ovens, but we can’t do it with children? Pfft. What good is technology then?

    Comment by Moocow — March 30, 2006 @ 9:40 pm

  14. Nope, just sick.

I’m a fan of the self cleaning part—as long as when they do it, it doesn’t make that terrible burning smell. I hate that.

  21. hehehe… fetch me that contraption. it’d only be better he used “newfangled” in front of “contraption”… oooh and followed it up with “back in my day things were made to last…” at which point he starts destroying things to prove his point.

  29. I’ve been baking since I got reasonably well. It’s the only bloody thing to do when you’re stuck at home for weeks at a time.

Six loaves today, and we’re thinking cinnamon rolls again.

    I’ll post pics. 😉
