new appreciation for people

So we launched the most recent site today. Woohoo. πŸ˜› It’s a site where the Boss can expound (his) truths to the masses, and where (he assumed), they would lap it up like puppies.

Oh, was he so wrong.

The masses are taking him to task. I now have a newfound appreciation, and yes, love, for all people everywhere. πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

Added to that overwhelming, and quite honestly, euphoric, joy, I was directed to some intriguing sites today.

Their Circular LifeÒ€”It’s very, very cool.

And, have you ever heard this? “Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace.” It comes from an undelivered Nixon speech.

William Safire was one of the greatest speechwriters of all time, and he wrote an incredible speech for Nixon in case the moon mission failed. It’s brilliant, and truly one of his greatest speeches.

  1. How do you mean, “they’re taking him to task”?

  2. By “taking him to task” I mean they are demanding he back up his nonsense facts and figuresÒ€”he uses lots of hypotheticals and claims that they are conversations he had with “clients.”

It’s enjoyable. πŸ™‚ Because then he went in and responded to them with a very lame “it’s confidential.”

  3. I watched L’Auberge Espagnole on your recommendation (@msmac) and totally loved it. Any other foreign film ideas? Jean

  4. Oh I’m so glad you enjoyed it! The followup to L’Auberge is Les Poupees Russes, if you can find it. πŸ™‚ I can’t over here, and I am bummed!

What else.. hmm. Life is Beautiful (Italian), Y Tu Mama Tambien (Mexico.. it’s a good one), Central Station (Brazilian, I think), City of God (also Brazilian ?), A la Folie… Pas du Tout (He loves me, he loves me not: French, with Audrey Tautou), ooo Late Marriage (it’s Hebrew, sooo good) and Il Postino (Italian)… can you tell I love foreign films? lol πŸ™‚

If I think of more (which I’m sure I will), I will let you know. πŸ™‚

  5. Here’s the guy that I am supposed to find for the insider:
    Army pilot
    who is a volunteer firefighter
    tall, dark, handsome
    with muscles (he has guns)
    who likes to read
    because he is very smart
he can kill a man with his bare hands 315 different ways
but would only do so to protect her
and is as witty as he is intelligent

  7. Er, if you do find one, make sure he has a twin brother. A “discernible” twin brother. Much much much appreciated.
