I recall a date where the gal I was with bought me a mojito. I was really drunk and ate all of the mint in my beverage. The server came back and thought he screwed the order up and got me another one for free. I proceeded to eat all the mint again. My date (who was also quite drunk) kept forgetting what she had already said and repeatedly told me how fabulous my breat was.

Point being that garnishes can be food groups!

They’re garnishes. Lemons typically come served on the side of a dish, like seafood, to be squeezed over-To enhance the flavor. And they also taste good in a variety of beers: Harpoon IPA for one-At Harpoon Fest, they actually have bowls of lemons at the beer stations, and it also enhances a Mich Ultra draft. And limes would probably do the same thing…

and i call a lime and lemon a citrus fruit. so there.

1. Citrus fruit does belong in beers (case in point – Orange in Blue Moon, Lemon in Lenie’s Honeyweiss (it’s a midwestern thing).

2. Regular fruit does not belong in beers (case in point – Lenie’s Berryweiss which tastes like ass).

3. I’ve eaten an entire lime before, but only because someone bet me $5 bucks.

There was a time, I think it was ’98, that for an entire year I got my whole caloric intake from rum, pepsi and limes.

At least I didn’t get scurvy.
