words of an age

June 28th, 2006 | by the insider |

I liked Brokeback Mountain. I thought it was a great film that addressed a controversial subject with style and grace.

That being said, my favorite thing about this movie is the phrase it gave us… the phrase that reminds me of an old phrase, one we used to use in jest. A phrase that for many, many, many years, always garnered a giggle…..

“You had me at hello.” —Jerry Maguire

Now we have…

“I wish I could quit you.”

Thank you, Brokeback, we needed that. :)

I keep telling my blog, “I wish I could quit you” and it keeps telling me, “Shut up and write more, bitch.” And then I do.

I love that movie! It was filmed near where I live so now there are people offering Brokeback ‘tours’ of Moose Mountain (the mountain that doubled as Brokeback in the movie). It’s funny because all the ranchers in the area who helped with the horse wrangling are all these total redneck types who weren’t too thrilled find out they had worked on a gay cowboy movie. But then again, maybe they’re all in the closet too…

Wen and Grampa.. could we not, LOL.

Malnurtured… there was a suspicious lack of male frontal nudity in that film. Argh. ;)

    Me.. oh sheesh, ROTFL.

Le Will.. reaaaaalllllly now. So did you go and watch? Did ya?
